Men Must Learn to F.I.G.H.T. for Their Health

Today the average American man is out of shape and overweight . They seldom see their family physician unless dragged in by their spouse. We must learn how to f.i.g.h.t. to regain our health. Dr Gary Gordon has given us an outline with his F.I.G.H.T. protocol.

1. Food – The standard American diet (S.A.D.) has failed us . We have gained 20 lbs over the past 20 years following this diet. We need to decrease the saturated fats and processed foods in the diet. It is time to get over our love affair with wheat and dairy, (more likely our addiction to these foods). 40% of the population is allergic to wheat, and even more cannot digest milk products. We also need to educate ourselves about the coming disaster posed by GMO– genetically modified foods that our bodies were never intended to digest.

1. Focus – We live in a 24/7 society with the advent of cable TV and the internet. We have forgotten how to quiet our minds. As a result of this stress we pump out excessive cortisol which causes us to gain weight and reduces our natural testosterone level. It’s essential to find and use techniques that quiet the mind. These can be: meditation, prayer, listening to soft music, reading, walking or anything else that helps you become mentally still.

2. Infections – Chronic fatigue syndrome has been related to several infections like Epstein Barr, Lyme disease and Cytomegalic Virus among them. At this time, there is a significant rise in antibiotic resistant bacteria due to the overuse of antibiotics. Men need to avoid the overuse of antibiotics and strengthen their immune systems with probiotics, vitamin C and vitamin D-3.

3.Genetics – We have decoded the human genome and are beginning to understand how genetics can effect our health. Men need to learn how to eat to improve their genetics, instead of activating disease carrying genes through their toxic lifestyle.

4. Hormones – Men are becoming more aware of their changing hormones which creates andropause (the equivalent to menopause – female midlife hormone changes). Increased stress physically or mentally can reduce testosterone levels and result in fatigue, muscle wasting and depression. Men are also becoming aware of the effect of increased estrogen levels as a result of xenoestrogens (from plastics) and hormones given to animals.
They need to restrict the use of plastics and switch to range fed, hormone free meats.

4. Heavy metals – Many are suffering the effect of chronic exposure to heavy metals especially: lead, mercury, cadium, aluminum and arsenic. Men need to have their levels checked and incorporate an appropriate detoxification program to help improve their health.

5. Toxins– Men are seeing the results of over 80,000 chemicals being introduce into the environment without any study of the effects on humans. The normal male sperm count 30 years ago was over 50 million, today the normal has dropped to 25 million. Men need to look at their chemical exposure at work and at home. Follow this by developing ways to avoid them and set up far infrared to help detoxify them.

Men need to take over the responsibility for their health and become proactive in the F.I.G.H.T. to slow down the aging process, enhance the mitochondria(each cell’s energy pack), and create optimal health in the future.

Today we have been focusing on men and their health. However these principles also apply to women and children.
